Often we take our most precious asset, our partner, for granted. In hectic, stressful, troubled times, the quality of our relationships is more important than ever.
 
We long for a deep connection with our partner.  Yet, so often our self-limiting habits, work stresses, or years of just plain neglect, sidetrack our dream for deep intimacy and loving partnership.
 
When you invest in your most intimate relationship, everything works and everyone benefits. For your happiness, this might just be the most important work you’ll ever do as a couple.

  • When is it: Friday, July 14, 7:00 p.m. – Sunday, July 16, 3:00 p.m.
 
  • Where is it: Alexandria, Pennsylvania, at the Edgewater Inn and Riverside Grille, a peaceful country Inn situated on 16 acres along the beautiful Frankstown Branch of the Juniata River in the South Central Mountains of Pennsylvania.
 
What you can expect

The retreat can accommodate a maximum of 12 couples. You will be given exercises to do alone or with your partner. Confidentiality is respected and preserved throughout the weekend.

What’s included in the Couples’ Retreat Weekend?
  • Buffet breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday
  • Lunch with beverages on Saturday and Sunday
  • Saturday evening gourmet dinner
  • Coffee breaks with snacks, fruit and refreshments throughout the weekend
  • Lots of time for you to be alone together to talk, apply principles, practice, and integrate what you are leaning
  • Individual couple’s coaching throughout the weekend
  • Tango lessons with a professional dance instructor and an evening of dancing on Saturday night!
  • Couples’ massages available, but not included in in the cost of the retreat

Andrew L. Miser, Ph.D.

​Andrew L. Miser Ph.D. is a Certified Professional Coach trained through the Coaches Training Institute. He is a
member of the American Psychological Association, the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and the International Coaches Federation.

In his work with couples, he brings expertise in adult developmental, marital education, and experiential learning. He works with couples in exploring their values, in creating a vision for their lives and in developing an effective and fulfilling partnership. He is the author of The Partnership Marriage, Creating a Life You Love…Together.

Introducing Brian Bassett,
​Professional Dance Instructor

 
Brian’s teaching experience began in 1961 in and around Stoneham, Massachusetts, north of Boston. His wife, Sharon, became his teaching partner in 1977, with the additional expert tutelage of his parents, Jack and Alma Bassett, in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania.
 
In 1979, Brian and Sharon began teaching under the name Bassett Dance Studio and have offered private and semi-private lessons in their home studio at 10724 Bassett Lane, Petersburg, since 1986.
 
The Bassetts have extensive experience, travelling around the country, teaching ballroom and round dancing to couples. teaching ballroom and round dancing to couples.

Joanie Yanusas is a Certified Professional Coach and Retreat Leader. She is a graduate of the internationally recognized Coaches Training Institute and is a member of the International Coach Federation and the Retreat Coaches Network.

Joanie strives to help you get what you want in life and she specializes in working with relationships. She explores the differences in the ways we think, act and communicate. 

She offers simple, partnership strategies for couples to improve their communication and intimacy by paying attention to when they talk, how they talk and what they listen for.  Most importantly, what she shares with you always comes from her heart. She gets under your skin in a most loving and supporting kind of way.

Registration Information
 
Retreat fee: The cost of the retreat is $875, which does not include the cost of accommodations.
 
Accommodations: The Edgewater Inn and Riverside Grille has reserved rooms for all couples at a cost of $130.80/night.  
​Please call  814-669-4144 to make your reservation. 
 
Payment: A $300 deposit will hold a spot for you and your partner! Payment in full is due on June 15th, which is 4 weeks prior to the first day of the retreat.
 
Cancellation policy: If you cancel prior to June 15th, you will be reimbursed in full. If you cancel after June 15th, you will be reimbursed full payment minus the $300 deposit.
